Our Backstory
Our nonprofit was founded in 2014 by Dr. Ryan Dickerson in affiliation with the Birth Center of Baton Rouge. We envision a future in which families from all backgrounds have access to safe, empathetic care from the prenatal to the postnatal stages.
Our Mission
At Friends of the Birth Center, our mission is to increase access to community-centered midwifery care for low-income families, ensuring that every expectant mother has the love and care she needs to bring her baby into the world.
